From SUVs to sports cars, these new American cars stand head and shoulders above the competition in terms of the value they offer for the price.

Large automakers like Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis still dominate the American market in 2022, churning out everything from sports sedans to luxury SUVs and electric cars. Not-so-popular American brands like Lucid, Nikola, and Karma have also upped their game this year, so the market is flooded with tons of options to the point that choosing the right one that suits your lifestyle becomes a daunting task.

While some cars simply provide good value for the money, others shoot for excellence by going a bit extra in providing a reliable, feature-packed, performance-driven, and stylish model. These new American cars stay ahead of the competition and buying any might be the best automotive decision you've ever made.

The Corsair, which made its debut in 2020 is based on the Ford Escape crossover, so Lincoln packs enough luxury features to conceal its mainstream origin. Even though the Corsair is the smallest Lincoln vehicle, it's not exactly athletic enough to take on twisty roads. So, it's better to see the Corsair as a luxury compact SUV designed for comfort seekers.

The 2022 Lincoln Corsair is available in three trim levels – Standard, Reserve, and Grand Touring – with the Standard model starting at $36,370 and making 250 hp from a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine. The new Corsair ranks above more expensive competitors like the Mercedes-Benz GLB-Class, Infiniti QX50, and Audi Q5.

Even though the 2022 Chrysler 300 comes with some nice improvements, it isn't all that different from the large sedan that was introduced nearly two decades ago. Besides its V6 and V8 engine options, a reason for the Chrysler 300's longevity is that few large cars manage to offer its Bentley-on-a-budget styling.

The base 300 Touring is equipped with a 292-hp 3.6-liter V6 and starts at $31,770. If you want more luxury and convenience at a decent price, the midrange Touring L is a better option and Chrysler adds a new air filtration system.

The Ford Bronco Sport is a compact SUV designed for thrill-seekers, day-trippers, and sightseers. The new Bronco Sport is a rugged build that sports a safari-style roof, 4x4 capability, and all-terrain functionality. The cabin is pretty spacious and the cargo area can accommodate two mountain bikes.

The Ford Bronco Sport runs on the same platform as the Escape crossover and all models come with all-wheel-drive. The base model starts at $28,165 and gets its power from a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder. If you need more punch, go into the Badlands with $38,000 to get a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that makes 250 horsepower. The 2022 Ford Bronco Sport outranks pricier rivals like the Jeep Wrangler and GMC Terrain.

If you need a subcompact SUV that's a little larger than the normal Buick Encore, go for the intelligently engineered, five-person GX. With its streamlined stance, crisp body lines, and athletic tone, the new Encore GX stands out with poise. The nimble performer confidently balances power, agility, and efficiency.

The Preferred base model starts at $24,400 and features a 1.2-liter turbo engine. If you want to get the best value for money, then the midrange Select trim is your best bet, as it is equipped with an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat, 18-inch wheels, and roof-rack side rails. Depending on how you equip the Encore GX, it can outrank the Honda HR-V, Jeep Renegade, and Subaru Crosstrek.

The new Jeep Grand Cherokee comes fully redesigned to meet the demands of everyday off-road adventures. Although the 2022 Grand Cherokee is very similar to the Grand Cherokee L, the former can only manage five occupants, while the latter can take up to seven. Jeep overhauls the outgoing Grand Cherokee's rather dated interior, with higher trim levels like the Summit and Overland featuring more upscale luxury materials.

The diverse powertrain lineup of the new Grand Cherokee offers decent output for every model. The base Laredo starts at $38,325 and pumps out 293 hp and 257 lb-ft of torque from a 3.6-liter V6. It's a great alternative to more expensive midsize SUVs like the Buick Enclave.

Every version of the 2022 Ford Mustang is fun to drive, with performance and personalization combinations for everyone. Even the more aggressive Mustangs except for the 760-hp Shelby GT500 make good daily drivers. The back seats are roomy enough for a pony car and the outward visibility edges the Chevrolet Camaro.

The entry-level Mustang EcoBoost starts at $28,600 and its 2.3-liter 4-cylinder makes up to 310 horsepower. But if you want to appreciate the Mustang in all its glory, the GT or the Mach 1 will be a good choice.

The 2022 Lincoln Aviator is not as big as the full-size Navigator, but also not as small as the two-row Nautilus. The plush cabin, advanced tech features, and potent powertrains of the Lincoln Aviator drove it to the top of its class, and we think it's even better than rivals like the Cadillac XT5, Volvo XC90, and Land Rover Discovery.

The Lincoln Aviator is pretty fast in a straight line, but it feels wallowy around turns. The plug-in hybrid electric Grand Touring model that makes an exhilarating 494 hp, sets you back a little more than the Standard model that starts at $51,465, but it's totally worth the extra money.

The new Ford Expedition is the biggest family hauler in the model's history with a third-row that won't torture adults. While other cars in the large SUV segment can have a similar towing capacity and off-road capability as the Ford Expedition, none can boast of its smooth ride and cavernous cabin.

The 2022 Ford Expedition starts at $51,110 and is a cheaper alternative to the Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Yukon. All 2022 Ford Expedition trims are powered by a gutsy twin-turbo V6 and work with an independent rear suspension.

For the 2022 CT4-V Blackwing, Cadillac holds nothing back in delivering a sports sedan that's born in luxury but bred for the track. With the refined interior that features specially-bolstered and heated front seats with 18-way power adjustments, suede microfiber accents, and a cargo area that can accommodate five carry-on suitcases, the 2022 CT4-V Blackwing is more than ready for your daily drives.

The raw power of the 427-hp 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 makes the 2022 CT4-V Blackwing one of the most powerful sports sedans by Cadillac. Starting at $58,995, the new Blackwing gives the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, BMW M3, and Audi RS5 Sportback a run for their money.

The Lincoln Navigator shares the same mechanicals as the Ford Expedition, but its luxury components give it an edge. The large luxury SUV can accommodate eight people, with a third row that offers more legroom than the GLC-Class and other competitors. The Standard Navigator goes for $76,710 and comes with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that blasts out 440 horsepower.

Lincoln's proprietary semi-autonomous driving mode known as the Active Glide is perhaps the best new feature for the 2022 Navigator. Just like Cadillac's Super Cruise technology, the Active Glide allows you to enjoy a true hands-free driving experience. There's also the forward-facing camera that easily identifies road bumps and adjusts the suspension to cushion the effect.
